Rules and Regulations
When: Sunday, September 20, 2026 | 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Where: Phoenix Center for the Arts

Event Duration: 2.5 hours
Purpose:
IACCONNECT was established to preserve and promote the rich heritage of Indian Classical Music and Dance within the Phoenix community. This event is dedicated to showcasing emerging talent from renowned schools of Indian Classical Music and Dance across the Valley and beyond.
Students who are learning online are also encouraged to participate, with the approval of their instructors. Please note that this event is exclusively for student performers—teachers will not be performing.
Entry Guidelines
1. Audition Requirement
All entries will be reviewed and must pass an audition for acceptance into the program.
2. Submission Deadline
Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances. Entries will be accepted on first come basis to fit in the scheduled program duration.
3. Audition Video Submission
Participants must upload a video of their performance piece to YouTube and provide the video link in the entry form. The decision of the IACCONNECT committee will be final and is not open to discussion.
4. Entry Limit Per School
Each school may submit a maximum of two (2) entries. No exceptions.
5. Group Size
Each entry may consist of a solo or group performance. This year, there is no limit to the number participants in each item. Please consider stage size before deciding number of participants in each entry.
6. Performance Duration
All performances—vocal, instrumental, or dance—must not exceed six(6) minutes. No exceptions.
7. Dance Music Submission
Upon audition approval, all dance participants must submit two (2) copies of their music in MP3 format at least one day prior to the event. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of participation.
8. Accompaniment Requirements
All vocal and instrumental performances must include percussion accompaniment:
- Hindustani performances must include tabla.
- Carnatic performances must include mridangam.
Electronic instruments such as tanpura, shruti box, or electronic tabla are acceptable.
9. Dress Code
Participants must wear traditional dance or performance attire on the day of the event.
10. Participant Eligibility
All performers must be students currently enrolled in a music or dance school. Teachers are not permitted to perform.
11. Genre Restrictions
Only traditional classical music and dance forms are permitted. Fusion, Bollywood, neo-classical, or new age music is not allowed.
12. Teacher Endorsement
All participants must receive approval from their teacher to participate. Entries without a teacher’s endorsement will not be accepted.
Fees
A fee of $40 per participant is required.
- For group performances, each student must pay the $40 fee.
Example: 2 students = $80, 3 students = $120 - Payment is due only after audition acceptance and must be made through the IACCONNECT website using the PayPal link provided.
Important Dates
Application Deadline (including YouTube link): Saturday, August 29, 2026 (by Midnight)
Approval Notification: Saturday, September 5, 2026
Participant Fee Due: Saturday, September 12, 2026 (by Midnight)
Dance Music Submission Deadline: Saturday, September 20, 2026
